Join us in downtown Forsyth on the first Saturday of each month for our special 1st Saturday Shop Small event. Enjoy the sweet life in Forsyth and look for the shopping and dining specials sure to please! And don’t miss out on the special treat — Forsyth Mainstreet sponsors a free concert and food trucks on those first Saturday nights— May through August!

Pinocchio
Pinocchio: Pinocchio tangles with tricksters, Fox and Cat, and Lampwick and his no-good buddies in the Land of Toys. Will he ever prove that he is good enough to become a Real Boy?
Shows will be performed at the Rose Theater November 2nd-3rd and November 6th-8th; 9:00 am, 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. each day, for school age children who visit The Rose on a field trip. One date (TBD) will have an afternoon show (4:30 pm) for after school programs and the general public.

Forsyth Hometown Holiday Parade
What can be better than starting the holidays with a parade? Why Santa of course! Join us in town for our 33rd Annual Hometown Holiday Parade on Thursday November 30, 2023. The lighted parade winds through downtown Forsyth, spreading holiday cheer to children and adults of all ages.

Mark your calendars for Beautiful Downtown Bolingbroke’s 31st Annual Christmas Parade. Come enjoy the parade festivities, food trucks, & Santa’s Workshop following the parade. Parade begins at 11am and route will be on Rivoli Road in Bolingbroke.

First Day Hike
Want to start the new year off with a bang? Then join us, January 1st, 2024 9:00 am – 10:30 am, at High Falls State Park to get that heart pumping on a moderate 2.5 mile hike. This is a guided hike on our Tranquility Trail. We will meet at the Tranquility Trail-head at 10:00 AM. Please dress for the weather and wear closed toed sturdy hiking shoes. Everyone is welcome, but the trail is not easily accessible for strollers. Free with $5 paid parking.

Groundhog Day Ceremony
Is winter here to stay, or is spring just around the corner? Groundhog Day is a popular North American tradition observed in the United States and Canada every year starting in the 16th century. Announcing whether a groundhog sees its shadow after it emerges from its burrow allegedly predicts the arrival of spring. Visit Dauset Trails Nature Center the morning of Friday Feb. 2, 2024, to find out what General Beauregard Lee has to say at sunrise. The main gate will be open by 6:00 AM. This free ceremony will be 7:30 am – 10:30 am.
