Kayaking 101
Jump in and get your feet wet. Have you ever wanted to get in the water and learn how to paddle a kayak? Then join us for a short lesson and then a 1 hr paddle around the lake. You must be prepared to have a good time and get wet. Reservations required. $20 fee.

Backyard Birding
Love to watch the birds but don’t know all their names? Join the Park Naturalist at Falls View Trailhead to learn how to attack birds and other wildlife to your backyard. We will also make a fun craft to take home to feed your feathered friends. Free

Turtle Talk
Be you speak turtle? Do you like to pick them up and check them out? Then join the Park Naturalist to look at turtle shells and LIVE turtles! We will discuss what kind of turtles live at High Falls and how to co-exist with turtles. $1 Fee.

Bones and Tracks Talk
Do you search for deer tracks in the dirt? Do you wonder what a fox track or raccoon track look like? Join the Park Naturalist to look at different bones, tracks and pelts of animals native to the area and talk about what animals you might have seen around the park. $1 fee for craft.

SUP for Beginners
Have you also wanted to learn how to handle a paddleboard? Learn fundamental skills in this beginner’s class. After class enjoy a 1-hour paddleboard rental. Open to adults and children 8 and older who are accompanied by an adult. Must be able to swim. Reservations required. $20 fee.

Stargazing at High Falls
Love to gaze at the stars? Join us and the Flint River Astronomy Club to get close and personal with the night sky. Meet in the pool parking lot. Free

High Falls Bass Tournament
Do you have what it takes to bring in that big bass? Then join us for a day of fishing for a record Largemouth Bass in the High Falls Lake. This tournament is open to all ages, experience levels, motorized ((9.9 HP limit) and non-motorized boats. Check-in will start at 7:00 AM at the park office. Weigh-in will begin at 3:00 PM. Prises will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
Entry fee per boat( one or two-person teams) $35 Advance Registration $40 Day of Tournament
Daily ParkPass or Annual ParkPass Required. A fishing license is required for 16 and older. Please call the park office to register.

Art Walk on the Square
Need to change the look in your living room? Come out and see the regional artisans as they display and sell their work. Let the kids be creative as there will be a Sidewalk Chalk Contest for all ages from 10am-1pm. Don’t miss out on the Habitat for Humanity Bird House Silent Auction. This will be a good time to grab gifts for Christmas.

8th Annual Anchor of Hope Golf Tournament
Have you ever got a bogey at The Club at River Forest? Anchor of Hope is hosting their 8th Annual golf tournament to raise money for their special programs. AOH provides financial and spiritual support, encouragement, resources, and services to families with disabilities. The event takes place at The Club at River Forest in Forsyth. Registration and driving range access begin at 11:00 am and tee off follows at 12:00 noon.

Fall Music and Arts Festival at Hamlin Hills
What could be better on a beautiful fall day then a music and arts festival? Adding a corm maze of course! Join us for the 1st annual Fall Music and Arts Festival! Fall Festival on the Square
What do witches, ghost and walking dead have to do with Forsyth? Celebrate Halloween with us on the historic square! The streets are closed so kids can trick or treat in a fun and safe environment. Local businesses distribute candy and kids can enjoy games, inflatables, and festival food.

Green Tomato Festival
Missed getting your fried green tomatoes? Head over to nearby Juliette for the Green Tomato Festival, a celebration of the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, that made Juliette world-famous. Eat at the delicious Whistle Stop Café, browse booths of goods made by local artisans, enjoy live music and rides for the kids, partake in the unique shops and boutiques of Juliette!

Junior Ranger Day Camp
Our Junior Ranger program got a makeover this winter! We now offer site-specific Junior Ranger Badges (the wooden one pictured)! Each site has a unique badge for you to earn! Our badge can be earned through our monthly Day Camp! On the first Saturday of every month, we are offering a Junior Ranger Day Camp. The activities will vary from month to month. There is a 15 child limit per camp, so make sure you register early! The fee is $30 and the camp is for anyone age 5-15. Your child is required to wear weather appropriate clothing (that can get wet/muddy) and closed-toed shoes. You will also need to provide a water bottle, a lunch, and a snack for your child. If you have any additional questions or to register, call the office at 478-993-3053
