Monroe County Fine Arts Center Season Tickets
The Monroe County Fine Arts Center is proud to announce it’s 2020 Season Line Up. On June 6th, the MCFAC will host singer-songwriter, Tony Orlando. Taking the stage on August 15th will be American Pop and Country Star, BJ Thomas. Gospel Singer Sandi Patty will perform on September 19th. Then, back by popular demand, Voctave will close out the season on December 21st.

Kick off the Forsythia Festival with the Grammy and Dove Award Winner, David Phelps. He will perform at the Monroe County Fine Arts Center as apart of the 2020 Forsythia Festival. Phelps is most known for his nearly 20 years of singing with the Gaither Vocal Band. Tickets will go on sale Dec 16, 2019. Prices are $30 – $40.

Forsyth Forsythia Festival
We kick off the beautiful spring season with one of the most exciting events of the year: The Forsythia Festival. This free, family-friendly event takes place the second weekend of March in downtown Forsyth. Activities include a two-day arts and crafts show, children’s fair, 5K and one-mile fun run, sporting tournaments, live entertainment and more.

Peaches to Beaches Annual Yard Sale
Start off spring with an adventure! What can you find as you explore middle Georgia, starting near Culloden and making your way down to the beach. Stop and check out a few vendors or spend the day in one area. No telling what you can find on this unique road trip.

The Backlot Players present - Lone Star and Laundry and Bourbon
Texans love to say of their state that “everything is bigger.” Join us for a comedic evening of fun as we visit the Lone Star State and drop in on the ladies and their men for insights on life in the South. No doubt you will come away at least believing the characters are bigger in Texas.

2020 Crappie Fishing Tournament
Grab your fishing rods and come on out to High Falls State Park on Saturday, March 28th from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM for a park sponsored fishing tournament. The tournament is open to all ages.

Hubbard Day Celebration
Celebrate the invaluable contributions of William M. Hubbard. Commemorate African American achievement, both of those who came before us and our future generations. The events for this celebration are as follows; Saturday, April 11, 2020: King & Queen Contest, Friday, April 17, 2020: Hubbard Day Weekend Celebration Banquet, and Saturday, April 18, 2020: Hubbard Day Parade and Street Dance.

Trident Cup NSCA FITASC Grandslam Tour
Join us at the Meadows Gun Club for a great weekend for the Trident Cup Tournament. The Meadows Gun Club is offering shooters 200 Target Super Sporting, 200 Target Sporting, and 200 Target FITASC. All classes deserve a chance to earn awards, so payouts will be guaranteed to HOA, Runner Up, and 3 deep in each class, in ALL events. Guaranteed Payouts will total over $35,000.00. On Point Shotgun Sports will sponsor The Iron Man Challenge, all entrants that participate in each of the three events will automatically be eligible for these awards/payouts. Games will include Make-A-Break and Long Bird with daily payouts. Saturday night will consist of a Top Eight Super Sporting Scores shoot off and a social event with food and drinks. Autism Awareness Festival
The Autism Awareness Festival, sponsored by Anchor of Hope Foundation, is held on the last Saturday in April. It is a day of promoting community awareness, inclusion, and education about disability while providing a place to foster friendships and show families facing developmental disability love and support. The festival includes a resource/craft fair, kids play area, 5K trail race, family fun run, local and professional entertainment, and food vendors.

Night Market Festival

The Backlot Players presents - Crimes of the Heart
This Comedy is set in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, where the three Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours at a local hospital. Lenny, the oldest sister, is unmarried at thirty and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazelhurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West Coast; while Babe, the youngest, is out on bail having shot her husband in the stomach. Their troubles, grave, and yet, somehow, hilarious, are highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick and by the awkward young lawyer who tries to keep Babe out of jail, while helpless not to fall in love with her. In the end, the play is the story of how its young characters escape the past to seize the future.
