As we all search for ways to stay active and social while also abiding by new healthy guidelines this season with social distancing, spending time outdoors with friends and family is the answer. Whether you are an avid adventurer or more of a leisure traveler, we have something for everyone here in Forsyth, Georgia!

For the Adventurers

You can definitely spend an entire day (or weekend) here and never run out of adventurous activities. Here are our top picks for the area!

High Falls State Park

High Falls State Park Waterfall

One of the largest cascading waterfalls in Georgia is found here at High Falls State Park! You will find 4.5 miles of hiking trails and multiple camping areas surrounding the waterfall. You can also choose to rent boats, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and aqua-cycles within the park! Spend a day or weekend adventuring at one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Georgia!

Lake Juliette

Looking for a local swimming or fishing hole? You’ve found it! Launch your boat for a day on the water catching your favorite fresh water fish or bring a few floats and lounge in the water during the summers. Either way, you will be surrounded by gorgeous scenery for a relaxing day in nature.

Forsyth KOA

KOA camping in Forsyth, Georgia

Ever camped with Kampgrounds of America? You have the opportunity to do so here at the Forsyth KOA! Bring your RV, enjoy rivers full of catfish, surrounding lakes and splashing waterfalls. There is a dog park on site so your furry friends can also have an adventure! If you don’t have an RV, you’re welcome to rent a cabin or yurt on site. Be sure to check out mini-golf or the Forsyth Mining Company to search for local gems and fossils while you are there! The Forsyth Mining Company and mini-golf are open to the public so you don’t need to be a KOA camper to enjoy these activities.

Ocmulgee River Water Trail

Do you prefer water adventures? Bring your paddle-board or kayak and paddle your way along the longest continuous water trail in Georgia! The rapids found along this trail are Class 1 which means it is a great trail for beginners but exciting enough for the more seasoned paddlers.

Need a break from the river? Visit The Whistle Stop Cafe and stores on the movie set for Fried Green Tomatoes.
