We kick off the beautiful spring season with one of the most exciting events of the year: The Forsythia Festival. This free, family-friendly event takes place the second weekend of March in downtown Forsyth. Activities include a two-day arts and crafts show, children’s fair, 5K and one-mile fun run, sporting tournaments, live entertainment, and more.
Hubbard Day Celebration
Celebrate the invaluable contributions of William M. Hubbard. Commemorate African American achievement, both of those who came before us and our future generations. The events for this celebration are as follows; Saturday, April 13, 2019: King & Queen Contest, Friday, April 19, 2019: Hubbard Day Weekend Celebration Banquet, and Saturday, April 20,2019: Hubbard Day Parade and Street Dance.

Americorps First Time Camper
AmeriCorps rangers are excited to lead you through a State Park camping adventure! High Falls State Park hosts the event which is scheduled for Saturdays, Apr 14th, May 12th, and Jun 16th. Autism Awareness Festival
The Autism Awareness Festival, sponsored by Anchor of Hope Foundation, is held on the last Saturday in April. It is a day of promoting community awareness, inclusion, and education about disability, while providing a place to foster friendships and show families facing developmental disability love and support. The festival includes a resource/craft fair, kids play area, 5K trail race, family fun run, local and professional entertainment, and food vendors.
Sixth Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo
On May 5th from 9am – 12pm the Georgia Department of Corrections will once again host the Kids Fishing Rodeo. Catch some catfish and win prizes. The event will be held at 300 Patrol Rd off exit 186 of I-75. See the flyer below for contact information.

Soak in High Falls Lake and enjoy the setting sun in this peaceful 3-mile canoe trip to Buck Creek. The ranger will give a short lesson on the history of High Falls Lake and the local ecology. Canoeing experience is recommended. This program is open to adults and children 8 years. Please bring a headlamp and wear water shoes. Reservations required.
